THIERRY GARBY

Thierry Garby graduated in law and political science and became a member of the Paris Bar in 1972. He created the firm of Garby Vialars Dupas, in 1989. It is now comprised of five highly specialized lawyers and their younger associates. The firm specializes in intellectual property, commercial contracts, procurement law, corporate law, debt collection, corporate finance, litigation & ADR. Mr. Garby is particularly active in commercial contracts, corporate finance, litigation & ADR. The firm represents a wide variety of foreign companies or their French subsidiaries.

Mr. Garby has always been active in international law. He served as President of the AIJA (Association Internationale des Jeunes Avocats – Young Lawyers International Association) in 1989. He is now the President of the Mediation and Conflict Prevention Commission of the UIA (Union Internationale des Avocats - International Lawyers Association).

He is a mediator and arbitrator with:

• The CMAP (Centre de Médiation et d’Arbitrage de Paris)

• The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO)

• The Brussels Business Mediation Center (BBMC)

He is the founder and President of the World Forum of Mediation Centers.

Mr. Garby is also the author of a book about distribution contracts for computer products and another about negotiation techniques.
